About Us

Mission

West Park Cultural Center uses arts and culture as a central tool in programs that help children and youth tap into their creative and academic potential. West Park Cultural Center is where families can access the arts, education, and other programs that contribute to their personal development.

vision

West Park Cultural Center will be a community-based resource where children and adults will access the arts and educational opportunities through programs that contribute to their personal development and quality of life.

values

  • We recognize the potential of each individual and work with patience and compassion to ensure the success of the children and adults who enter our programs.
  • We respect the diversity of our community and believe that celebrating these differences will enhance the lives of those we serve.
  • We collaborate with other organizations and businesses in order to maximize resources and strengthen our ability to serve our community.

for children & youth

We offer after school arts (YAP), arts infusion during the school day (Arts for Literacy),and a summer arts and nature program (Camp Ginkgo). Facilitated by professional artists, these programs provide top notch instruction and caring mentorship. The West Park Cultural website houses student on-line portfolios of their creative accomplishments and parents can interact with their child and WPCC using the Parent Dashboard.

for families

Our annual West Park Arts Fest brings families together for a day of live performances, activities in the Children’s Pavilion, drawing and performance workshops, and exploring items on sale by our arts and craft vendors. The festival also serves as the culminating event for our program year to showcase student work as well as performances by professional artists. This event includes up to 30 arts, cultural and community partners.

for adults

West Park Cultural Center feels it is also important to provide support to those in the community ages 18 and up. Staying true to our mission to use the arts to build a vibrant community we depart from traditional structures by integrating the arts into the skill development process beginning with drawing to build visual literacy.

partnership

For us partnership is key to building program and organizational capacity. We welcome the opportunity to explore and create new relationships.
