The position is part of a dance teaching team, supporting the lead dance instructor. Responsibilities include leading warm-ups, creating and refining choreography, and collaborating on learning objectives and lesson development. West Park Cultural Center’s danceLogic® program is an innovative initiative designed to engage girls in both dance and STEM. Established in 2018, danceLogic emphasizes the connections between dance and coding, highlighting the similarities between these two disciplines.
danceLogic® takes place at the Community Education Center (CEC) on Saturdays from the first Saturday in October to the second Saturday in June when the young ladies perform at the annual West Park Arts Fest. Participants, aged 10 to 18, take part in a 90-minute dance class followed by a 75-minute coding session. Dance teaching artists arrive at 9:30 am with dance class running from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. There are Saturdays when the class does not meet due to holidays and spring break.

Education Level

Compensation
Pay is $60 per class (1.5 hr) plus an additional $20 per week to plan with the lead dance instructor. Pay is made every two weeks by e-check.
