Aya Travick-Best is a dancer and creative producer from Oakland, California. She earned her undergraduate degree from UCLA’s School of Theater, Film, and Television and has performed across concert, commercial, and theatrical stages. Some of her credits include the 2021 MTV Video Music Awards with Busta Rhymes, the BET LA Live Experience, the Broadway musical Soul Train: The Hippest Trip, and the Golden State Warriors Jr. Jam Squad.
She has created original short films supported by the New York Foundation for the Arts and has produced content for beauty and fashion brands, including Saks Fifth Avenue and Benefit Cosmetics, bringing technical expertise in video production, editing, and digital storytelling.
Aya has taught at UC Berkeley, AileyCamp Berkeley, and with community organizations across the Bay Area. She is also trained in and conducts research on traditional dances of the African diaspora, with a particular focus on Senegal and Guinea.
At DanceLogic, she combines her professional dance experience, media background, and passion for youth engagement to help students explore the intersections of movement, technology, and self-expression.
